Thousands of Doodles have migrated to Toontown and are in search of a good home! So they need you! Pet Shops in each playground sell a variety of Doodles, with new Doodles available every day. Each Doodle has a different personality - some are hungrier, some sleepier, some more playful and energetic. Doodles come in a variety of colors and patterns: some have spots, some are fuzzier, and some have scales!

Adopt a Doodle

Image:Large_image_doodles.jpg

Start saving those jellybeans, because the least expensive Doodles can be adopted in the Toontown Central playground for 200-300 beans. These doodles are the 'default' doodles. They are the worst in tricks which is why they are the least expensive. The highest-priced Doodles can cost up to 5000 jellybeans in the Donald’s Dreamland Pet Shop. These doodles are the best around because they are best at doing tricks and have the best personalities.

Choose your Doodle carefully because even though you can return to any Pet Shop, you will not get back your jellybeans! Each toon gets only one doodle at a time.

Think about what you're going to do with your doodles. If you're going to get a doodle from Toontown Central, you might want this doodle just to be a pet and not rely on it in battles. If you're going to get one at Donald's Dreamland you might want to train it well and then rely it to come during battles.

Name Your New Friend

Once you pick out the Doodle that is right for you, he or she will need a name. Doodle names are chosen from a name generator similar to the Toon name generator. When your doodle gets its name, the clerk will ask you to confirm the adoption. Once it's final, your Doodle will automatically be sent to your estate.

Toon Tip: Make sure to invite all of your friends over for a play-date - Doodles follow Toons to friends’ estates and love to play with other Doodles.

Toon Tip: Choose your name carefully, because you can't change it!

Toon Tip: You can return your doodle, but you won't get any jellybeans back!

Doodles Have Feelings Too

Doodles need care and attention, or else they might get upset. Click on your Doodle to display the Doodle panel which will appear in the upper right corner of the screen. From there you can feed, scratch, and call for your Doodle. Icons and emotes that appear over a Doodle’s head indicate how he is feeling. If he is hungry, click the FEED button in the Doodle panel and flick him a jellybean to eat!

Toon Tip: If it shows 3 doodles that are bright colored over its head, scratch it or bring a doodle over! Doodles need company too!

Toon Tip: If you tell the doodle, "You stink!" you will get them depressed. If you ask to be friends with it, it will either say, "<Insert Doodle Name Here> is already your best friend!" or, "<Insert Doodle Name Here> runs in circles, jumps up, and licks you in the face!"

Train Your Doodle

Image:tt_image_playdead.jpg

Teach your new friend how to play dead, roll over, and dance. Each trick is learned by positive reinforcement - if your Doodle jumps when you tell him to, let him know he is a good boy by using the SpeedChat menu - and he will be more likely to jump the next time you ask. Give him a nice scratch and feed too - Doodles love to be scratched and fed.

All toons come with the Jump trick and all other tricks can be bought in the Cattlelog for 600 jellybeans. Any toon can train doodles with the tricks they own even on another toon's doodle even if the doodle owner does not yet own that trick.

These are the tricks doodles can learn:
Jump = 5-10 point laff boost
Beg = 6-12 point laff boost
Play Dead = 7-14 point laff boost
Rollover = 8-16 point laff boost
Backflip = 9-18 point laff boost
Dance = 10-20 point laff boost
Speak = 11-22 point laff boost

Toon Tip: When a Doodle performs a trick, the Toons around it will be healed. The better the trick, the more a Toon’s Laff meter will refill.

WARNING!!! - Doodle Trainer (or in other words "Clicker") is a term for a computer program that repetitively tells Doodles to do tricks then rewards the Doodles with speedchat phrases like "Nice Doodle". ToonTown and Disney has clearly stated that using a Doodle Trainer in ToonTown is forbidden. They have stated that players caught using a Doodle Trainer may be banned from the game. Disney has banned IPs of the computers of repeat offenders at Virtual Magic Kingdom (VMK) and could ban the IP of the computer of a player who is caught using Doodle Trainers or any other computer program to cheat in ToonTown.

Doodles In Battle

Image:Large_image_petbattle.gif

Call for your Doodle in the SOS panel during battle, and he will teleport to you. The traits and mood of your Doodle are important - he should be happy and ready to perform tricks. A new detail panel is available at your estate to track your Doodle's training progress for each trick sold in Clarabelle's Cattlelog. Each time he performs a successful trick, you and the other Toons in that battle get a Toon-up. The more trick training he has, the more likely he will perform his trick. Some tricks are more likely to be performed but will have less healing power. If your doodle is hungry, sleepy, or angry they won't perform the trick. You might have to feed your doodle with your actual jellybeans...but in the end it could save your life!
